Delhi’s Air Quality Worsens to Severe Category Post-Diwali 2025
Following the Diwali festival, Delhi's air quality dropped drastically, with several monitoring stations recording severe pollution levels, raising health concerns for residents.
After the vibrant Diwali celebrations involving heavy firecracker use, the air quality index (AQI) in Delhi deteriorated sharply. Out of 38 monitoring stations, 34 recorded levels in the “severe” or “red zone” category, indicating hazardous conditions. Experts warned the residents about potential respiratory issues and advised limiting outdoor activities, especially for children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing health conditions. Government authorities called for active post-festival cleanup and urged voluntary reduction of pollution-causing activities to help ease the situation.
