🚨 A Warning for Anyone Planning to Buy a Škoda in India
Before buying a Škoda car in India, please think very carefully. My ownership experience over the last 3 years has been extremely disappointing due to repeated component failures and unprofessional service.
🔧 Issues Faced in a 3-Year-Old Škoda
- Window motors started making loud noise
- Wiper motor producing abnormal sound
- Headlights were recently replaced but aligned incorrectly — one beam was pointing upward, the other downward
- I had to fix the headlight alignment outside because the service center did not do it properly
All of these are warranty issues, yet the experience has been frustrating.
📅 Timeline of Service Visits
- Feb–March 2025: Reported all issues. Nothing was resolved.
- July 2025: Car was kept for 3 days. Still no resolution.
- Latest visit: Asked to submit the car again for warranty processing, but the service center cannot confirm how long parts will take.
There is no timeline at all — it could take days or even weeks. When I asked them to check part availability first, they refused. They insist the car must be submitted before checking anything.
This is extremely inconvenient and raises serious questions about the brand’s reliability and after-sales commitment.
😞 Not Expected From a Premium Brand
I always believed that brands like Tata and Mahindra might have issues, but I never expected Škoda — a premium European brand — to have such low-quality components and such poor service support in India.
⚠️ Final Thoughts
If you are planning to buy a Škoda in India, please evaluate everything carefully. The cars may look premium, but the ownership and service experience is far from premium.
